Some Updates

London Loves bath time!!

Cheryl is so awesome, such a great person, mom, friend, etc...maybe even my all time favorite of Julies friends...wait, or is it Amanda...hmmm.

Instant friendship between babies would come natural, unfortunately they are unaware each other exist. But otherwise...best of friends.

3 Amigos

I Gave Avery some stickers which is like money for kids, this is where she chose to spend them.

I got her back.

Aerobatics Flight

My aerobatics flight was actually 2 Saturdays ago but I am just now getting to posting it. I will make the talk short. We suited up (parachutes), and preflighted the plane. I took off, and did all the normal stuff. Then the instructor showed me some aerobatic maneuvers. After he showed me how to do it, he let me try it. He said I did well. Here are the maneuvers we did.

Wingover: a steep climbing turn with 90 degrees bank for 90 degrees of turn, then let the nose drop and decend rapidly until leveling off at 180 degrees turn (not on the video).

Barel Roll: Different than the typical idea of a barel roll. This maneuver is a 360 degree roll with back pressure on the stick which makes it look more like a corkscrew.

Spins: Slow the airplane down by dropping the power and pitching the nose. When the airplane slows down so that it cannot produce lift, the nose drops and plane falls out of sky. that coupled with full rudder make for quite the spinning sensation. This is also where I began to feel sick.

Aileron roll: this is most peoples impression of a barrel roll. basically fly straight and 360 degrees of roll.

After the aileron roll, I - to my suprise- got really sick. I didnt throw up but i felt like i could any moment. I brought it back in for a pretty nice landing and I will try to do better next time on the air sickness.

General Aviation.

My life at the airport (my second home) often consists of watching or looking at other airplanes (Better ones than I fly) and wishing I could be flying them. Below are a couple of pictures of some of the planes I have seen recently.

Small and fast, the glassair is a zipper. fun to fly (so i hear) with the bubble top canopy windshield, and retractable gear.

this is a great family airplane. Bonanza A36. It has club seating in the back, seats six, and has a DVD player. It also cruises at 16ok (almost 200mph) which is pretty good for these small planes.

Apparently the owner of this plane is kind of a jerk. If he would let me fly this thing to Catalina, I would just land it (or crash it) in the Harbor, and avoid the $20 taxi ride from the airport. I have never flown a seaplane, but it looks fun.

This is part of the fleet at CFC. The plane I fly most of the time is the light blue colored one second from the last. To the average person, it looks just like the ones in front of it.

This Leer jet taxied past me while I was preflighting the plane, had to snap a shot.

they were doing some engine runups. Runup area is just across the taxiway from CFC.

London's Tourists

I regret not taking more pictures of London's visitors. I should have the camera ready at all times, but that is not how it works out. Anyway, we have been glad to see so many people that want to see her, especially if they drove from far to do it, like Rochester Hills, MI, Las Cruxes, NM, Queen Creek, AZ, The North Pole, and El Segundo. There are still many of you who have not gotten the chance because of timing issues, etc... and we hope you take time to come soon. For those of you who live way too far away, I will keep posting pictures to our blog, and as always you can look at the online album with ease, just click THIS. Anyway, enjoy the photos below, if you didn't make the visitors photo list, don't feel bad, it doesn't mean we don't care.
